is there a shortage or need for any class / trade

as an ex merchant/surveyor how common/hard to locate are good Quality resources

Honestly, play whatever you find enjoyment in. If that is recreating what you did originally, go for it! If that's playing around and mixing and matching a bit more, have fun! If you're just starting out and looking to get into crafting, there are a few vendors around the galaxy that offer some of the other resources for sale so hopefully you can find what you're looking for that way or asking around.

On EiF, you will find players in player cities, not NPC ones. Check out the Player Cities thread for a list of active cities and check them out!
